Privacy Policy for Worth It
Last Updated: September 9, 2026
Welcome to Worth It. We build software that acts as the architect of a worth it life. Because our app relies on understanding your goals, resources, and personal reflections, we handle your data with strict respect and minimal footprint.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website, PWA, and services (tryworthit.app).
1. What Information We Collect
To weave your timeline and generate your next steps, we collect the following:
-
Account Information: Your email address and login credentials (managed securely via our authentication provider).
-
Your "Context" & Reflections: The goals you set, your available resources (budget, time), and the text or voice reflections you submit after completing a quest.
-
Payment Information: If you upgrade to a Premium subscription, your payment data is securely processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full credit card number.
-
Usage & Analytics Data: Basic web and device data (such as browser type, operating system, pages visited, and interaction events) collected through analytics tools to help us fix bugs, measure performance, and understand user journeys.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data for one primary purpose: to provide and improve the Worth It experience.
Specifically, we use it to:
-
Maintain your "Context Vault" so the app remembers your progress.
-
Generate highly personalized quests and "Chronicle" diary entries.
-
Manage your account, subscription, and Quest Tokens.
-
Send you essential updates (e.g., password resets or app notifications).
-
Measure app engagement and optimize product workflows.
3. How We Use AI & Third-Party Services
We are a solo-developed app, which means we use trusted third-party infrastructure to power Worth It. We never sell your personal data to advertisers.
Here is exactly who processes your data:
-
OpenAI: We use OpenAI's API to act as the "Guide." When you submit a reflection, that text is sent securely to OpenAI to generate your next quest and Chronicle entry. Note: Under OpenAI’s strict API privacy policies, your data is NOT used to train their public AI models.
-
Supabase: We use Supabase to securely host our database and handle your secure login.
-
Stripe: We use Stripe to handle all subscription billing.
-
Vercel: We use Vercel to host the website and keep the app running fast.
4. Analytics & Tracking Technologies
We utilize modern analytics and conversion measurement tools to understand how users discover and interact with Worth It:
-
Google Analytics 4 (GA4): We use Google Analytics to collect aggregated information about how visitors navigate our app and website. IP anonymization is enabled by default. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
-
Meta Pixel & Conversions API (CAPI): We use Meta (Facebook) advertising and measurement tools. The Meta Pixel operates client-side in the browser, and the Conversions API operates securely server-to-server. These tools measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns and track key lifecycle milestones (such as account sign-ups, onboarding completion, and subscription upgrades). For server-side events, personal identifiers such as email addresses are irreversibly hashed using SHA-256 before transmission. You can adjust your advertising preferences directly through your Meta Ad Settings.
-
Cookies & Local Storage: These tools may use cookies and similar browser storage to recognize repeat visits and maintain session integrity. You can configure your browser to reject cookies or notify you when cookies are being placed.
5. Data Security and Retention
We take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect your data. Your "Chronicle" and life path are private to you. We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you decide to leave, you can request full deletion of your data at any time.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live (such as California or the EU), you have the right to:
-
Access the personal data we hold about you.
-
Correct any inaccurate data.
-
Delete your account and all associated data ("Right to be Forgotten").
-
Opt-out of non-essential communications and tracking.
To exercise any of these rights, simply email us at the address below.
7. Children’s Privacy
Worth It is not intended for anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
As we add new features (like Apple Health or Google Calendar integrations), we may update this policy. We will notify you of any major changes by posting the new policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date.
9. Contact Us
